A Florida man who was arrested for shooting a woman in the face with a paintball gun claims the Miami Police Department have arrested the wrong person.
34-year-old Calix Green was arrested early Sunday morning after officers responded to calls of shots fired in the area of Northeast Second Avenue and 14th Street.
The victim told officers she was hit multiple times in the face with paintballs, and the car she was riding in was shot with bullets, just moments after a group of drag racers were caught on camera doing "donuts" and blocking traffic near the FTX Arena.
Police arrested Green after finding paintballs in his vehicle.
After bonding out of jail on Monday, Green denied involvement in the shooting, telling WPLG Local 10 “I do a lot of like, little paintball events and stuff like that with my guys, so that’s why the paintballs were inside my vehicle."
Green claims Miami Police didn't investigate the shooting enough and are pinning the crime on him.
He's facing charges of battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal mischief.
The victim sustained minor injuries and refused treatment from paramedics.
