A regional superintendent with Palm Beach County Schools is no longer in the running to lead the Broward County School District.

Peter Licata was one of four finalists for the job of Broward Superintendent. He dropped out Thursday, thanking the school board for their consideration but not giving a reason.

Another employee of the Palm Beach County School District is among the now three candidates for that Broward Superintendent job. Keith Oswald serves as the chief of equity and wellness for Palm Beach schools.

The other two finalists are Michael Gaal, a former deputy chancellor at D.C. public schools and Broward's interim superintendent Vickie Cartwright.
