Lightning Beat Canadiens For Third Straight Win

The Tampa Bay Lightning (42-22-6) defeated the Montreal Canadiens (27-37-6) 5-3 on Saturday night at Amalie Arena. It was the third straight win for Tampa Bay.

Brandon Hagel's hat trick helped key the victory for the Lightning. Tampa Bay trailed Montreal 3-2 heading into the third period, before Steven Stamkos scored on the power play 3:14 into the frame to tie the game 3-3.

Not even three minutes later Brandon Hagel scored the game-winner - his second of the night. He added his hat trick goal with 44 seconds to go in the game to give the Lightning a 5-3 win.

Brian Elliott got the start in net in the first game of a back-to-back saving 18 of the 21 shots he faced.

The Lightning return to action on Sunday night in the second game of a back-to-back. They'll host the New Jersey Devils at Amalie Arena on Sunday evening, the third time the two teams have played since Tuesday. Puck drop between the Lightning and Devils on Sunday is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
