Parkland Parents On Nashville School Tragedy

Three nine year olds and three adults are among the victims shot to death at The Covenant Presbyterian School, a PreSchool-through-6th grade school in Nashville, Tennessee. The shooter was armed with two assault type-weapons obtained legally. Police say the shooter had done surveillance and entered the school through a side entrance. The shooter, shot and killed by police, is identified as a 28-year-old transgender Nashville woman who had previously attended the school. Investigators are now searching her home and talking with her father.

Parkland Parent Manuel Oliver whose son Joaquin was among the 17 lives lost in the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School massacre in Parkland in 2018, says it's time for extreme measures or else we're going to keep losing people.

MSD parent Max Schachter's son Alex was also killed in Parkland. He says people praising law enforcement for taking 14 minutes to neutralize the threat is really upsetting.

Even survivors of the South Florida Valentine's Day school shooting, like David Hogg, have had enough of the ongoing violence in schools.

President Biden has ordered U.S. flags at the White House and all other federal buildings to be flown at half-staff to honor the victims of Monday's school shooting in Nashville. It's in effect through Friday at sunset.
