Rays Bounce Back To Beat Blue Jays

The Tampa Bay Rays (36-15) defeated the Toronto Blue Jays (26-24) 7-3 on Wednesday night at Tropicana Field.

The Rays took a 3-0 lead early - after Isaac Paredes drove in a run in the first, Luke Raley and Jose Siri both hit solo homers in third. When the Jays got one back in the top of the fourth, Tampa Bay answered with a RBI triple from Manuel Margot and a RBI single from Wander Franco in the bottom of the fifth to make it 5-1.

Though Toronto pulled within 5-3 in the eighth, Jose Siri and Wander Franco both drove runs in the bottom of the eighth to make it 7-3. All told Siri finished the game 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs, while Wander Franco finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

Shane McClanahan (8-0, 1.97) allowed one earned run on four hits in seven innings while striking out seven and walking none.

The Rays will now look to win the series against the Blue Jays on Thursday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 PM - Jay Recher and Zach Blobner begin pregame coverage with the Inside Pitch at high noon on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620.
