This weekend marks the first consecutive Saturday and Sunday in April and that means license-free freshwater fishing in Florida waters.
License-free fishing days are aimed at giving an opportunity to residents and non-residents who don't yet have their fishing license to experience it or introduce a friend to fishing without them having to purchase a license...that is until they're hooked.
Rules on seasons, bag and size limits still apply.
The next opportunity to fish without a license comes in June, both for fresh and saltwater.
