The Department of Justice has just released new evidence in the Ryan Routh case showing that the man wanted to kill then-Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump to keep him from being elected.

Routh is accused of attempting to assassinate Trump at his West Palm Beach golf course in September. He was found hiding behind some bushes and pointing a rifle through a fence while the now-President was playing golf at Trump International.

A new DOJ court filing shows an alleged text from Routh to an individual he believed to be a Ukrainian arms dealer in which he writes that he wants to be sent a rocket propelled granade so that "Trump cannot get elected." He reportedly wanted to fire it at Trump's personal plane.

He goes on to write that Trump is "not good for Ukraine."

The feds call it a "substantial step" in Routh's plan to kill Trump.

His trial is scheduled to take place in a Fort Pierce federal courtroom in September after being pushed back from November 2024.
