The Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Florida Panthers 5-1 on Saturday afternoon to pull within 2-1 of the Florida Panthers in the first-round Best-of-Seven Stanley Cup Playoffs series.
Matthew Tkachuck scored for the Panthers just 2:43 into the first period to give Florida an early lead. Brayden Point scored to tie the game late in the first period.
The Lightning got goals from Nick Paul, Luke Glendining, Anthony Cirelli and Jake Guentzel in the second and third period to make it a 5-1 final score. Guentzel finished the game with a goal and two assists.
Andrei Vasilevskiy went 33-of-34 in net for the Lightning to get the first win of the series.
The Lightning now have an opportunity to tie the series when the two teams meet in Game Four on Monday night. Puck drop from Sunrise is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Monday.
