Kristen Savage was walking her 13-pound chihuahua mix, Ringo, in the Markham Woods area of Seminole County when a bear approached. Savage lifting Ringo into the air to keep it away from the bear before throwing a bag of cookies at the animal.
The bear got distracted by the cookies and Savage was able to run home.
Savage says she knows it was a mother trying to protect her cubs, but still, it was terrifying. FWC was notified and confirmed a bear and its cubs in the area.
No word of the flavor of cookie.
