The Tampa Bay Lightning (18-11-2) defeated the New Jersey Devils (17-13-1) 8-4 on Thursday night in Newark, New Jersey. It was the second straight win for Tampa Bay after having lost the previous four.
The Lightning got four goals in the first period to take control of the game earlier. Oliver Bjorkstrand led the way with two goals for Tampa Bay, who also got goals from Nick Paul, Darren Raddysh, Pontus Holmberg, Jake Guentzel, Brandon Hagel and Brayden Point in this all-around effort.
The Lightning now travel to New York to play the Islanders on Saturday afternoon. Puck drop from the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York is scheduled for 3:30 PM on Saturday afternoon.
