Miami Gardens will be buzzing with futuristic car race Saturday.

The Miami E-Prix features electric-powered Formula E cars racing around the Miami International Autodrome at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

“We are a fully electric car racing championship, world championship actually,” said Formula E co-founder Alberto Longo.

Formula E race cars resemble Formula 1 open-wheel models but are battery-powered with a 45-minute charge.

Last year, Formula E racing series introduced a new "Pit Boost."

It's an ultra-fast charging feature that enables the charging of electric race cars at up to 600 kilowatts.

2026 is the third race of Season 12 in the quest for the Formula E World Championship.

Jake Dennis who won the 2023 series championship is one of the drivers competing. He also won the first race of the 2025-2026 series championship, in São Paulo, Brazil, in December.

Plenty of stars are expected to attend the race at Hard Rock including Puerto Rican singer Farruko who will headline the Miami E-Prix.

Gates open at 7 a.m. Practice runs from 7:30 to 8:10 a.m. Qualifying is from 9:40 to 11 a.m. Between qualifying and the race are a driver autograph session (11:35 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.) and a concert with reggaeton and Latin pop performer Farruko (noon to 12:45 p.m.). The race starts at 2 p.m.

Grandstand ($81), Trackside Terrace ($159) and general admission ($40) tickets are available.
