Miami Heat Forward Haywood Highsmith is being sued... following a crash.
The lawsuit alleges Highsmith was speeding when he hit Alekxei Pino who was helping a driver with a broken down car.
Pino was seriously injured with several broken bones and required an above-the-knee amputation of his leg. The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.
Highsmith was cited for careless driving.
The Heat issuing a statement simply saying 'Our hearts go out to those who were injured.'
