Marlins Dominate In First Win

The Miami Marlins finally broke through, and ended the nine-game losing streak that started this season by beating the St. Louis Cardinals 10-3.

The Marlins got the scoring done early as Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Nick Gordan each hit three-run bombs in the first inning to jump out to a 6-0 lead. Just as importantly as those six runs were, was the performance by the young pitcher Max Meyer. Meyer held the Cardinals to three hits and one run. The one run was the only mishap of the day for Meyer as it was Nolan Gorman's first of two homeruns on the day. The outing was also the first win of Meyer's career.

Another bright spot for the Marlins was the bullpen. Andrew Nardi, George Soriano and Matt Andriese combined for three inning, two hits, six strikeouts and two runs.

The Marlins look to keep it going tomorrow on the road against the New York Yankees tomorrow night starting a three game set. Coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. and first pitch at 6:05 p.m. on Fox Sports 940am, or locally on the iHeartRadio App.
