For the second time in franchise history the Miami Marlins were swept by the Washington Nationals, the score was 7-2.
The Marlins didn't get much done offensively as Jazz Chisholm Jr. was the lone source Monday night. Chisholm belted his fifth homerun of the season 414 feet to center field in bottom of the sixth-inning to pull the Marlins within one run. It also added to his now team leading 17th RBI.
The Washington Nationals erupted in the seventh-inning scoring four runs, and forcing the Marlins to need four pitchers to get through the last three innings of the game. CJ Abrams led the way for the Nationals with a two-run homer and two walks. Jake Irvin collected his second win of the season.
The Marlins continue the home stand Tuesday night with the seven-win Colorado Rockies come to loanDepot Park. First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m., coverage begins at 6:40 p.m. on Fox Sports 940am, or listen locally on the iHeartRadio App.
