Marlins Slither Pass Diamondbacks

The Miami Marlins beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 3-1, and clinch its fourth straight series win.

Ryan Weathers led the way for the Marlins holding the Diamondbacks scoreless for six innings. The win is his third of the season and the ninth win in the last 13 games for the Fish. In six innings of work, Weather recorded seven strikeouts, four hits and only one walk. The bullpen was stellar as Declan Cronin and Calvin Faucher combined for two innings, two hits and only one run. In the ninth inning Skip Schumaker called on Tanner Scott to pick up his seventh save of the season.

Offensively for the Fish all of the action was in the seventh inning. The Marlins left 11 runners on base for the game, and all three runs scored in the seventh inning were unearned.

With the win the Marlins are now out of last place of the Wild Card seeding. The Marlins continue the road trip, and will be looking for a fifth straight series win against former teammate Luis Arraez and the San Diego Padres Monday night. First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m., and coverage beginning 6:10 p.m. on Fox Sports 940am, or listen locally on the iHeartRadio App.
