The public has a chance to sound off on the Miami-Dade trash incinerator today ahead of a final vote on the project. Commissioner Raquel Regalado says all options are on the table after the mayor nixed a plan to build a new one. They include building an out-of-county landfill, using contracted capacity services or building a waste-to-energy facility. The county needs to replace the Doral incinerator that burned down in 2023. Trash is currently being hauled via truck and train by an outside contractor.
