City of Homestead Distributing Emergency Hurricane Meal Kits

As Tropical Storm Erin intensifies, the City of Homestead is giving out emergency meal kits to eligible seniors. Spokeswoman Gretchell Cano says residents sixty and older can get three boxes of non-perishable meals to add to their hurricane kits. Nearly six hundred boxes are being distributed on a first come, first served basis at the William Dickerson Community Center from ten this morning until one-thirty this afternoon. The goal is to ensure the older adult community isn't scrambling before a storm.
