Gators Knock Off USF Bulls In Tampa

The thirteenth ranked Florida Gators (2-0) defeated the USF Bulls (0-2) 42-20 on Saturday afternoon at Raymond James Stadium.

The Gators took a big lead early, rotating between Anthony Richardson and Emory Jones at quarterback, and led 35-3 at halftime. Jones finished with 151 yards passing, one touchdown and two interceptions, while Richardson had some dynamic plays to finish with 152 yards while going 3-for-3 with two passing touchdowns.

The USF Bulls put together some big plays in the second half, and Jaren Mangham scored two touchdowns to outscore Florida 17-7 in the second half. Cade Fortin started at quarterback, going 12-for-1 with 91 yards, no touchdowns and one interception. As the game went along, the Bulls went with Timmy McClain, who went 4-for-10 with 83 passing yards.

The Florida Gators will return to action Saturday September 19th in Gainesville with a huge matchup against the number one team in the country, Alabama. The USF Bulls will be back in action Saturday September 19th as well, when they host Florida A&M at Raymond James Stadium. You can hear the USF Bulls game on AM 1250 WHNZ.
