Reports Say the Dolphins Are Doing "Extensive Research" on Jordan Love

It shouldn't come as a surprise that the Dolphins are doing their due diligence on anyone at the QB position, but reports like this make you wonder if the Dolphins plans are different from what we expect.

This is a team that holds 3 first round picks (5, 18, and 26) and they can go in a variety of ways with that much draft capitol. Never-mind the 2 second round picks they have.

Would it be so foolish to draft an Isaiah Simmons out of Clemson, someone I'm sure Brian Flores would love to have @ 5. And then, pick up Love @ 18?

Not so crazy.

The report can be found @ ESPN.com, here's a snippet:

Texas Tech coach Matt Wells -- who recruited and coached Love at Utah State -- told ESPN he has discussed Love with seven NFL head coaches who called him in the past five days.

Among teams doing varying levels of homework on Love, according to sources: Miami DolphinsNew Orleans SaintsNew England PatriotsLos Angeles ChargersGreen Bay Packers and Washington Redskins, among several others.
