The Reason WWE Was Deemed an "Essential" Business in Florida

This may seem like the most "Florida" news of all-time that a pro-wrestling company is deemed "essential" in our State. But, there's a good reason for it, believe it or not.

It's like the great Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase once said...Everybody's got a price.

Florida was like a 2nd home to the WWE, but truly, it's become home base. Since 2008 WWE has dumped 100's of millions of dollars into our Florida economy...more than that smoothie shop down the road from you that's also deemed "essential".

Since 2008, WrestleMania has appeared in Florida 3 times and would've been a 4th if the show in Tampa had proceeded as scheduled. Most wrestlers live in either the Orlando or Tampa area, Vince gave Tampa an XFL team, and the WWE's developmental product, NXT is based in Winter Park, Florida.

Never-mind the fact that Vince and Govenor Ron DeSantis are Republican pals, follow the $$ and heed the advice of the million dollar man.

According to Demings, WWE initially was not designated as essential and therefore was not exempt from the state's shelter-in-place order, which took effect April 3 and runs through at least April 30. That decision was reversed after "some conversation" with DeSantis' office, Demings said Monday during a news conference.
