Marlins CEO Derek Jeter Forgoing His 5 Million Dollar Salary Amid COVID-19

The Miami Marlins haven't always been in the news for all the right reasons, well, this time they absolutely are. Derek Jeter is stepping up big time to help out his employees. More info below:

Derek Jeter told team employees during a conference call Monday that he is indefinitely forgoing his salary during the coronavirus pandemic, a source told ESPN confirming multiple reports.

Jeter, who has a reported salary of $5 million annually, told members of baseball ops on the call that they will be paid through at least May 31, the source said.

According to reports, other members of the Marlins' executive team agreed to take pay cuts.

I wouldn't worry too much about Jeter's finances though, his reported net worth is roughly 185 million dollars.
