Deebo and Daniels Makes Sense for Commanders

The Washington Commanders have traded for WR Deebo Samuel in the hope of bringing more firepower to their improving offense with 2nd year QB Jayden Daniels at the helm. Doug thinks this is the right time for the Commanders to open up the purse strings for some play-makers to compliment Daniels while he is still on his rookie contract.

Doug Gottlieb: “It really does start and end with the quarterback position. If your quarterback is making, you know, 40, or 50, or 60 (million dollars a year), well something’s going to have to get cut. And if you’re going to cut something, you cut something of diminishing return; that’s Deebo Samuel. Whereas the Commanders, they need a couple more play-makers. (They) can take a shot at a Deebo Samuel because their quarterback’s not going to be making anything for the next three years.”
